This song was originally written and performed by Cave In off of their album "Perfect Pitch Black". The band's bassist Caleb Scofield died tragically in an automobile accident on March 28, 2018. I have to admit, it was the first time that I was deeply affected by the death of someone I'd never met. It took me months to start feeling normal again, and even now it it fills me with crushing sadness if stop and think about it. Caleb left behind his wife Jen and two kids who are close to the same ages as mine.
I hope my rendition of this incredible song is a small tribute to Caleb's memory.
